We two are blessed with an awesome family. After Darby's corporate career, we operated our family-owned consulting business for 27 years, and managed a college scholarship fund. Then, we took to the highway. After our extensive travels across the outdoor wonderland that is Utah, we wrote The Utah Cure (2017). It will help its readers to discover the curative, rejuvenating, and inspirational effects of being in the great outdoors. It is about spending three days and two nights. It is about discovering 40 magical destinations. Our most enjoyable and rewarding accomplishment has been to create our own family campsite, the "Owl's Nest," in Sanpete County, Utah. It is our affordable, accessible, and super-fun nature connection.

In an age of such threatening climate change, there are no more essential partners than trees in sustaining life on our planet gem. Trees are the beloved royalty of the Plant Kingdom. We live part time with 90+ Juniper (some known as Cedar) trees, Gambel Oak trees, and various species of Pine trees in the foothills of the Manti-La Sal Mountains of Sanpete County, Utah.
To sustain the outdoor connection with our children, we created our family's "Owl's Nest." This story really began with the Mother Tree. The succinct photo gallery below tells of the most interesting and fun feature of our family recreational campsite, which our forest mother made possible.
Our purpose is to share our love of the forest and to help you expand your appreciation of trees. As fellow Americans, we can unite to protect and enrich our physical environment. This common goal will help us overcome our differences, surmount the obstacles we face, and ensure a bright future for our children in this land that we love.

As the sweet forest wind sweeps across our homeland, may we love our nation and our neighbors.
